Waiting for our learners

We always place a lot of importance on the skill of waiting in our learners, but what about in ourselves?

By embracing the power of waiting with our learners, we give them more than just a little time.

Waiting can look like:
- pausing before prompting a response
- giving time to take a break
- letting them find their favorite pencil before beginning
- responding to off-topic conversations
- allowing imperfect but independently generated work
- applauding unfinished assignments

Let's give them time to respond, to grow, and to learn.
